Course studied: MA Children, Youth and International Development
Year of graduation: 2015

When I left Brunel…
To get a full time position in an International NGO.

At the moment…
I am now a Gender Based Violence Specialist, which involves me campaigning and facilitating training to challenge the attitudes and normalisation of violence against girls and women across the world.

I have also been running a project which invests in the education, skills training and self confidence of girls in Ghana. Which is now developing into a social enterprise which utilises Ghana’s natural resources to shape and nurture the skills, potential and well-being of even more girls and women across Ghana.

How my career goals have changed…
I never planned to be self employed and be able to start up my own international projects. But I am grateful for the opportunities that I have been given, and my Masters was indeed the stepping stone for me to find my passion and purpose.

How I have developed professionally since graduating…
Networking, developing partnerships, leading and managing projects. Also creating and developing training programmes and resources have been the key skills that I have developed professionally since graduating.

How I have developed personally…
I’ve been able to find my purpose, get out of my comfort zones and face my fears.

My advice to recent graduates/students graduating soon…
Follow your passion, face your fears and, if opportunities don’t come, create your own!
