A brief outline of my role…
Assisting the design and manufacture of bespoke light fittings for high end clients.

Why I love working here…
Its a very small team which allows me to do a wide variety of work on a diverse range of projects and take on quite a lot of responsibility. It’s also located next to Waterloo Station which has its perks.

My proudest achievement or experience so far…
Being the lead and doing the majority of the design/development of a one-off chandelier which is now in manufacture.

How I have developed professionally since working here…
My timekeeping has massively improved and also my understanding of the business sides of design, ensuring profitability and ease of manufacture/assembly as well as gaining experience with clients, manufacturers and contractors.

My advice to students wanting to work in this industry/sector…
Try and do a relative personal project, not necessarily designing your own light, but something that shows you have passion/interest in how spaces are lit.
