Year of graduation: 2015

When I left Brunel…
When I left Brunel University, I felt more prepared and accomplished and was just ready to get back into the workforce. Upon my return to the US, I had several job offers and I have to credit my time at Brunel University for that. My studies certainly prepared me for the type of work I was going into.

At the moment…
I currently work for the US Government in Emergency Management and it’s a challenging and fulfilling career. It’s a career that gives me an opportunity to travel, work with many different people across the US, and the opportunity to work on big projects.

How I have developed professionally since graduating…
I feel more confident since I graduated with a degree that enhanced my understanding of the field that I work in. Professionally, I feel that I am capable of accomplishing any task within my field since I have a great education which provided me with a solid foundation to build off of. I can see my career taking off and it is something that has given me confidence in the work that I do.

My advice to recent graduates/students graduating soon…
In order to land that great job right after graduating, it’s all about putting in the work, staying positive and being persistent. I applied to more than 270 jobs when I graduated Brunel but in the end, it paid off. If I didn’t put in the work researching companies and their mission while staying positive and being persistent, I would have never landed such a good job.
