Sustainability Consultant – Hope Bootle

Hope Bootle

28 Jul Sustainability Consultant – Hope Bootle

Course studied: MSc Sustainable Energy Technologies and Management
Year of graduation: 2015

When I left Brunel, my plan was…
To find a good job as a consultant. Therefore I made sure my dissertation was very much linked, and relevant to the current market and policy demands.

At the moment…
I’m working as a Sustainability Consultant. My main responsibility includes assessing and analysing embodied carbon, Lifecycle Analysis (LCA) and Lifecycle costing (LCC) for various developments. It also includes providing advisory services for development, applying for planning permission in the forms of sustainability statement, and BREEAM Pre-assessments report.

How I have developed professionally since graduating…
My world (contacts) has increased exponentially. This is mainly due to a combination of work meetings, after work social events, networking events and seminars.

My advice to recent graduates/students graduating soon…
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Don’t try to change who you are for an organisation, rather find an organisation that shares some of your core values.
