Work location: London UK
Job title: Business Development Executive
Company: Nabas Legal international Lawyers
Degree : MSc International Business
I found an internship once I finished my exams and about three months after, the company’s director created the Marketing executive position and after this I have been in charge of Marketing and Business Development for the organisation.
What my job involves
I am in charge of all the marketing mix for the company, print collaterals, look after websites, directories, newsletters, I do lots of networking, need to do extensive marketing research, approaching potential clients, create pitches for the solicitors or I execute them myself.
What I did to get the job
I contacted many of my friends and asked them to put my CV forward to their employers with the only aim to get an internship and luckily it worked out very well.
What I gained from the UK experience
I had a part time job while I was studying, I used to work at West Cornwall Pasty Co at a train station. They helped me giving me all that experience dealing with clients and getting to know how to work with a diverse workforce. The whole experience outside my country of origin has taught me so many things about different cultures and ways of doing things.
My top tips for international students
- Try to go to small companies and do some volunteering to open doors.
